Who knew, right? Lady Gaga’s designs and eco-friendly materials apparently were a smash-hit combo at this year’s Oxford Fashion Week [OFW], May 1-7, 2010. The daring OFW thematic slogan, ‘OFW is new fashion’ found compelling ways to express its floral, fur-trimmed, exotic and sometimes medieval designs on the runway during catwalks and concept shows in this ancient city renowned for its beauty and artistic architecture. Guest speakers at the Oxford Union included Dolly Jones, Editor at Vogue.com, Tony McGee, Photographer, Frances Card, Consultancy, Claire Wilcox, Fashion & Textiles, V&A, and David Gandy, model for Dolce & Gabbana. The venues included the Randolf Hotel, the Oxford Union, and the Oxford Town Hall. One week of absolutely fabulous fashion was well spent sitting front row at several shows and attending conferences and seminars on the latest trends of Europe and up-and-coming designers. We can’t wait til next year!
